Nincompoop is made of ingredients that are not a welcome host for weed seeds to germinate and grow.  Nincompoop will not sustain growth of any plant which requires photosynthesis to develop.  Remember this is a mulch, like all mulches you need to plant your desired plants in the earth below the mulch.  When you plant your flowers or vegetables in the earth and cover them with Nincompoop you will have a garden which is lush and vibrant, with no weeds.
